Giving Back
BlessFest has always understood that blessing flows in many directions. Over the years, festival proceeds have supported homeless shelters, families with children facing cancer and financial hardship, and Native Hawaiian teachers (Kumu's) who have devoted their lives to preserving and teaching the cultural arts, language, and wisdom of their people. Most recently, we have extended that circle of care to Kānaka Maoli communities on Maui still rebuilding in the wake of the Lahaina fires.
Blessings take many forms. Some arrive as music, movement, ancestral wisdom, and the rare gift of genuine human community. Others arrive as food, shelter, and the quiet relief of having one’s basic needs met. BlessFest holds both as sacred. When the festival is able, we direct a portion of what we receive toward people who are navigating real hardship in the world — because celebrating the beauty of life and tending to its struggles are not separate acts. They are two expressions of the same grace.
